About a contractor

The contractor you reached is independent and answers for its own work. LARA suggests first trying to resolve a problem directly with the contractor before the final payment, and says the local building inspector may help with workmanship and code issues.

• Licensed contractors: complaints go to LARA's Bureau of Professional Licensing (LARA homeowner guidance; Residential Builders' Section 517-241-9309).
• Contractors not required to be licensed, and consumer complaints generally: the Michigan Attorney General's Consumer Protection Team, 877-765-8388 (AG guidance).

Let us know as well, so the site can stop referring calls where there is a pattern of problems.
